You are invited to participate in a missions trip to New York City! Hope will be taking 16 adults (ages 18 and above). We will depart Tuesday morning, June 5 and return Saturday evening, June 9, 2012.
The Ministry
Hope will be partnering with The Relief Bus June 5-9, 2012. The Relief Bus outreach consists of former school buses now customized into mobile resource centers to help the poor and homeless. Friendly faces serve up a delicious, hearty vegetable soup, rolls and hot chocolate or iced tea (depending on the season). Over 20 years time, The Relief Bus has served over 3 million servings of food and beverage, connected 120,000 people to help and hope and mobilized over 30,000 volunteers to serve. The locations in which we will serve include Manhattan, Harlem, and the Bronx.
The Schedule
Hope will begin each day preparing soup and beverages. We then head out for the outreach and will return to The Relief Bus after 4 PM. Saturday will be a group day in Manhattan that the entire team will experience together!
Cost
Total cost of the trip will be $850 which includes airfare, accommodations, local transportation and meals. The only additional expense will be your souvenirs. A non-refundable $250 deposit is due with the application. The cost will increase to $950 after April 22, 2012. At that time the deposit will be $400. See the payment schedule for more details. If you’d like to check a bag for luggage with the airlines there is an additional fee.

Accommodations
We will be staying with The Relief Bus who have two dorm style rooms for teams coming to serve. There is a ‘guys’ room and a ‘girls’ room. Each sleeps up to 12 people. Each individual is responsible for bringing their own sheets/pillow (twin size) and a towel.
Raising Support
A raising support brochure is available at the Connect Center or you can download one by clicking here. As a short term outreach team member, you may receive contributions through sponsors. You are encouraged to begin raising support early for your trip and to be creative! Pick up a brochure for guidance and more information.
